Minister of Transport and Hydraulics, Robeson Benn today handed over 25 wheel clamps, along with chains and padlocks to the Guyana Police Force, at Ministry of Public Works and Communication, Kingston , in an effort to reduce congestion as a result of illegal parking or failure to conform to road signs. The device consists of a clamp which surrounds a vehicle’s wheel, designed to prevent removal of both itself and the wheel.

Telcoms Solution located at Industrial site on the East Bank of Demerara just outside of the capital city, robbing two security guards of two 12 gauge shot guns and twenty matching cartridges.
The police says the two armed security guards are from a private security service and another attached to the business entity were on duty when they were held up. The guards were assaulted and tied up by the group of men

There are two confirmed dengue deaths in Tabaquite today.
These deaths now push the official toll of people who have died of dengue haemorrhagic fever to five.
There are reportdely 600 confirmed cases of dengue in Trinidad and Tobago, according to Chief Medical
Officer, Dr Anton Cumberbatch.

Anton Christopher Goodridge, the main suspect in the beheading of a Diane Williams and her ten-year old son Shaquille appeared before a San Fernando magistrate today.
Goodridge appeared before Senior Magistrate Annette McKenzie charged with the killing of Williams and Shaquille at Ste Madeline on a day unknown between July 17 and July 21, 2010.
The dismembered bodies of mother and son, minus the heads and Williams’ arms, were found scattered at the Forres Park Landfill near Claxton Bay on July 21, 2010.

The State has described yesterday’s public auction of ten properties belonging to Jamaat-al-Muslimeen leader Imam Yasin Abu Bakr and his second-in-command Kala Aki Bua, as a success.
The State were able to raise $5.2 million from yesterday’s auction.
Yesterday’s auction came after a ruling made by Justice Rajendra Narine on September 11 last year in an effort for the State to recover a $32 million debt which resulted from the destruction of the Police Headquarters during
the 1990 attempted coup.
