The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service had their best week last week, recording its highest number of arrests, the Police Service’s Public Affairs Unit said in a release today.
The police “recorded the highest number of arrest, issuance of tickets, patrols, recovery of drugs, narcotics and illegal fire arms and ammunition over a one week period,” the release stated.

There is a serious possibility of rivers with already high water levels spilling over, the Meteorological Office has advised. The warning comes on the heels of another day of severe flooding around the country. On Monday the Inter Tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) produced heavy rain which caused flash flooding and high water levels in several rivers. South and Central Trinidad are already reeling from the devastating effects of the floods.

Justice Wendell Kangaloo was today appointed as acting Chief Justice of
Trinidad and Tobago by President George Maxwell Richards.
Kaangaloo will act in the absence of Chief Justice Ivor Archie who who left
the country on the weekend.
Archie is scheduled to return on August 12.

Jenitta says that the police have closed the file but she has not given up since photos and the Pathologist’s report has not convinced her of her son’s death suicide given by the Guyana Police Force. On July 04 2010 it was reported that Murray shot another officer Kevin Sheperd and took his life using a service .32 revolver at the Springlands Police Station, Berbice.
