Thundershowers are expected in Trinidad and Togabo over the next six
hours, the Meteorological Office announced today.
The forecasted rain threatens to unleash more devastation on citizens still
struggling to recover from flooding over the weekend and last week.

Leo Doodnath has been named the chairman of the Siparia Regional
Corporation.
Doodnath the councillor for Siparia/East/ Francique South was sworn-in as
chairman in an official ceremony as the Regional Corporation today.
Fitzroy Beache the councillor for Cedros was sworn in as Vice-Chairman.

Pensioner Geraldo Greens, who was trapped when a retaining wall in his
property collapsed due to a landslide has died.
According to reports a landslide occurred around 12.36 p.m. today at Lp #12
La Canoa Road Santa Cruz.
The Fire Service Search and Rescue unit are currently combing the area for
other persons affected by the landslide.
There is also a landslide along the Western Main Road in Carenage.

The Mayor of Point Fortin is expected to be elected by this evening. Councillors are also scheduled to sworn in five corporations today. Swearing in ceremonies for councillors are expected to take at the Port of Spain City Corporation, Diego Martin Regional Corporation, Tunapuna/Piarco Regional Corporation, Sangre Grande Regional Corporation and Mayaro/Rio Claro Regional Corporations.

THE General Council of Trinidad and Tobago’s Opposition party, the People’s National Movement , has agreed to create a 15-member team to review the party and determine the reason for the defeat at the polls in the last two elections. Dr Keith Rowley, the PNM’s political leader told of the intention today following a three-hour meeting of the party’s general council last night. There will be an "arm’s length" approach to the review as several nonparty members will form part of the team.
