Bridgetown.
President of the Barbados Bar Association, Andrew Pilgrim, says the delay in appointing a new Chief Justice is paralysing the judicial system.
"You would have thought that after all the debate that surrounded whether or not the law should have been changed, that there would be some need to move quickly and repair the situation", Pilgrim told Trakker News.
"You have a situation that the head of the judicial system is an actor and therefore is not in a position to plan forward", added Pilgrim.
The post of Chief Justice has been vacant since January1, 2010, after Sir David Simmons retired from the bench.
