Several Barbadians closed their accounts with the Barbados National Bank after it was rebranded Republic Bank Barbados over the weekend.
Manager Director of the bank Derwin Howell told Trakker News, the number of accounts closed did not represent a treat to the institution and staff had been prepared for such a reaction from clients who might have been upset over the rebranding of the bank.
Howell said staff were able to persuade some disgruntled customers to stay but some were adamant that they wanted to close their accounts.
He added that Republic Bank Barbados, would continue to support the Barbadian economy and respond to the financial needs of Barbadians.
