Barbados and China signed $15.7 million deal

Bridgetown.

Barbados and the People's Republic of China entered  a $15.7 agreement for economic  and technical projects in several areas yesterday.

Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Chris Sinckler, and Ambassador for the People's Republic of China in Barbados Wei Quiang, signed the banking agreements and accounting procedures for the financing at Government Headquarters yesterday.

Sinckler told the press that the money would support four agreements, three of which were discussed  by Prime Minister  Freundel Stuart and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao while on an official visit to the to the People's Republic of China earlier this year.
