Barbados doing better than most in economic crisis says Central Bank Governor

Bridgetown.

Governor of the Central Bank , Dr DeLisle Worrell, has ackknowlege that Barbadians are having a rough time due to the current economic recession but he maintains that the island is better than most countries in its battle with the crisis.

"This has most is difficult economic  environment  we have faced, far more difficult than we faced in 1991-1992 but if you compare how we have done and the extent to which we have been able to keep our external payments stable and stabilize our finances. I think that you would have to admit that we have done a much better job", Worrell told the press during a  briefing to review the country's economic performance in the  first half of 2011.
