BCA sacks CEO

Bridgetown.

Chief Executive Officer of the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA) Michael Browne had his 3 year contract terminated on Monday after just 13 months on the job.

While not expressing surprise at the decision of the BCA's directors to relieve him of the post  Browne voiced disappointment at the turns of events.

“I am not even sure I should term it as dismissal. The dismissal connotes a number of things. The BCA and I came to a parting because there was a review process in terms of my being here" Browne told Trakker News.

“Even though there is a parting of ways, I am looking to move forward. I bear no malice. In life, you move on. It is disappointment, but I knew what was happening. Even though you are a man facing the gallows and you know you’re going to die, there is an expectation. It was not a surprise", he added.

The 57 year old Browne expressed his disappointment that he did have the opportunity to implement some of the changes at the BCA.

"It was a challenge, I was trying to put basic systems in place regarding governance and accountability, with or without Michael Browne, these things have to be done. The dismissal was not a surprise to me. Recently, a lot of fingers were pointed in the direction of the CEO over certain matters", Browne explained.
