Berbice farmer left paralysed after being shot by business partner.

Georgetown : The farmer and father of two was shot on January 16th  2012 at the Crabwood Creek back dam where Ramdass and an associate cultivated 20 acres of plantains and bananas. According Beejay’s brother Jagdeo Ramdass during an exclusive interview with TrakkerNews said he witnessed the shooting of his brother and the family believes that the police are dragging their feet on the investigation since solid information was given to them about the gunman.

Jagdeo said the man who shot his brother is an overseas based Guyanese Imteeaz Shaw who is well known to the family since they were business partners. He maintained that on the day in question, Shaw along with three other men ordered his brother not to reap from the farm and an argument broke out and Beejay was shot to his back and eye by Shaw.

The three men were subsequently arrested and remanded to prison while Shaw managed to escape and there is no word of his whereabouts.

Beejay Ramdass is now paralysed after the bullet damaged his spine and is blind on his left eye. He was discharged Sunday last from the Georgetown Public Hospital. His family said he was not given any medication and was told to go home. They said “something does not look right to discharge a man who still needs medical attention and medication,” pointing out that the three men remanded will appear in court tomorrow to seek bail.
