East Bank Demerara – This afternoon around 2:30pm, employees of BEV Fisheries were robbed by three armed bandits at Houston estate, Georgetown.
Accountant Michael Vieira and labourer Richie Sahadeo were in the Accounts Office when the men entered and held them at gunpoint. Richie Sahadeo was robbed of $70,000.00 while Michael Vieira was robbed of $4 million.
During the process Richie Sahdeo was beaten about his body and shot to his knee by one of the perpetrators, after which they escaped in a waiting motor car.
Richie Sahadeo has been admitted to a private hospital for medical treatment. His condition is stable.
