Berbice : The partly decomposed body of an elderly Tucber Park, New Amsterdam , Berbice woman who was missing for almost a week, was found today at Lochaber, Canje around 2PM in a clump of bushes.
The woman was positively identified as Elma Griffith Thom, and according to relatives her mouth was stuffed with a piece of her clothing, raising suspicion that there was foul play.
The woman’s nephew Andrew Griffith said that she was last seen by a woman who was taking care of her.
The woman’s umbrella,a pair of long boots and her bag were also found about three miles from the body.
The body is at the Port Mourant Mortuary awaiting a post mortem as the cause of death is still unknown.
