Point Galeota: BPTT is forecasting that natural gas will be the fastest growing fossil fuel up to the year 2030 and the energy giant says the implications of this outlook are that there are long term opportunities for natural gas. It is good news for a natural gas producing country like Trinidad and Tobago.
BPTT's Vice-President of Resource Keith Bally says the company has a long term strategy that uses a combinaton of its knowledge of Trinidad's geology , access to BP global technology and building local expertise.
BPTT is in negotiations with govermment to finalise a production sharing contract following the award of deepwater blocks earlier this year. BPTT operates off the country's East coast. It has 13 offshore platforms and produces approximately 400,000 barrels of oil equivalent a day.
