Essequibo : Investigations are being conducted into an incident that occurred yesterday at Waimu, Cuyuni River, in which Brazilian national Radiel Silva Lima, 29 years, was shot an injured to his left leg.
The police said Radiel Silva Lima was involved in an argument with another Brazilian National, who is a licensed firearm holder, over damage to an excavator when he was shot. He has been hospitalised.
The licensed firearm holder is in police custody and is under guard at the Bartica Hospital after he complained of feeling unwell. His firearm has been seized by the police.
