Georgetown- Following a short meeting between Suriname's President Desi Bouterse and President Bharrat Jagdeo on Saturday, a number of key issues were discussed. TrakkerNews was informed about some of discussions during the impromptu visit. Crime, Immigration and the construction of a bridge across the Corentyne River were the key focus. The two presidents agreed to have a regularized river boat system and clamp down on the illegal speed boat activities that is responsible for the smuggling of drugs between the two countries. They believe that the process will help significantly in curbing a long history of criminal activities taking place at the borders of both countries. As it regards bridging of the Corentyne, the President is pushing to start the project before he demit office this year.
