Georgetown: Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Guyana National Broadcasting Authority (GNBA) Bibi Shadick said today that broadcasters have until October 31, 2013 to ensure that they are fully compliant with all broadcasting regulations and to complete applications for their license.
She had dispatched nine letters to eight companies on September 24 for non-compliance, incomplete applications.Those companies are: WHRM Channel 7, NCN, STVS Channel 4, the Learning Channel, NTN, RBS, the New Guyana Company Ltd and TTS.
Adding that if October 31 reaches and these companies are still not compliant, Shadick said it will be an offence under the law which there are penalties attached for enforcement.
Among the 29 applications the GNBA received, seven are for television license, three for cable, two for IPTV and 17 for radio.
