Georgetown: Notorious APNU/AFC Junior Minister Simona Broomes and her bodyguard Dexter Austin was on Monday charged appeared before City Magistrate Leron Daly on a series of charges.

Broomes and Austin both pleaded not guilty to the charges and were released on self-bail. The case is adjourned until August 31, 2020.
Reports are that two men removed a “no fishing” sign from the parapet in front Broomes’ yard.
Broomes, who has been embroiled in several controversies during her brief ministerial stint, reportedly decided to pursue the duo who were already leaving in a motorcar.
In the process, Broomes began making allegations about what had transpired via a live Facebook stream.
During the process, Broomes’ bodyguard discharged a loaded firearm in the direction of the men.
During the confrontation, Broomes identified one of the men as being Younge, who is also a former schoolmate of her.
During the live video, Younge was slapped while residents of the Sophia area also came out and accosted the men. Eventually, whilst in Sophia, Greater Georgetown, Broomes the two men were assaulted.
The matter was reported to the police.
