Port-of-Spain: The Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce has welcomed the end of the curfew on both land and sea.
The Chamber says feedback has shown that the business community particularly the smaller organisations and those within the hospitality industry, endured significant losses directly due to the curfew, which had been imposed since August 21st.
The Chamber says it was those who could least afford that were the hardest hit and it was for this reason the Chamber says it called for a review by the National Security Council of the curfew.
Meantime Finance Minister Winston Dookeran says the State of Emergency has not adversely affected the level of investments coming into the country.
Speaking to reporters at a stakeholder consultation on the International Financial Center at the Hyatt Regency Minister Dookeran says the sacrifice the nation made was commendable.
The business community last week called on government to re-evaluate the use of the curfew saying the business sector was suffering but he says there is no evidence that investments were affected.
