Leader of the Opposition Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Owen Arthur, sa ys his party will establish to agencies to attract more business and to exploit development opportunties.
Arthur made the disclosure yesterday during an address to the 73rd annual conference of the BLP at Grantley Adams Memorial School in St Joseph.
Arthur told the gathering a new BLP administration will establish an Agency for Business Facilitation in the Prime Mnister's Office to oversee and coordinate the coherent removal of the constrians on doing business in the island.
"We will also establish a Development Council with the Prime Minister Office, bringing the best minds in the country together to ensure that we are nolonger left behind by reason of our inability or refusal to grasp development opportunities", Arthur said.
According to Arthur, Barbados reportedly missed out on $1billion in investments and 2700 jobs in the last three years because of governmental inertia and incompetence.
