West Coast Demerara : Businessman Donald Latchanna of Blankenburg, West Coast Demerara, was attacked and robbed of one gold chain valued $500,000.00 by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, while at his vulcanizing shop.
Donald Latchanna was held up by the two perpetrators who drove up on a CG motor cycle. The armed man snatched Donald Latchanna’s gold chain from his neck and discharged two rounds before escaping on the motor cycle.
The police responded quickly to the report and established a road block close to the Harbour Bridge. Recognising this, the men tried to escape along the Sea Dam at Pouderoyen, WBD, but public spirited persons informed the police who managed to arrest one of them and seize the motor cycle.
Efforts are being made to apprehend the other suspect.
