Bridgetown.
A leading businessman has called on to the private sector to invest some of the profits they made when their business was blooming into ventures that would develop Barbados.
Speaking at a press conference after the ground breaking ceremony of the Deacons Multi Sports Complex, Bjorn Bjerkhamn, the chairman of the JADA Group of Companies said:
"We see this opportunity to contribute to Barbados' economy through the develoment of what is an underutilised area and I would like to encourage businesses that did well in the boom years to now invest some of the profits they made at the time into the development of our nation and not put it into their back pockets to wait for better days".
JADA Group of Companies is a strategic partner in the construction of the sports complex which is being undertaken by the Urban Development Commission in collaboration with Preconco Limited.
