Call to protect Barbados’patrimony

Bridgetown.

Veteran trade unionist Senator Sir Roy Trotman, yesterday indicated his intention to table a special resolution in the Senate tp secure Barbados' patrimony.

In recent weeks residents at Whitehaven, Skeete Bay, St Philip, including calypsonians Red Plastic Bag (Sedson Wiltshire) and Mac Fingall have objected to a suggestion by the owner of Crane Residential Resort Paul Doyle  to develop the area into a residential resort.

The residents are concern they will be displaced if Doyle is allowed to reconstruct the small fishing village. Speaking during the Estimates Debates in the Senate, Sir Roy said assurances from Doyle are not enough and he though it necessary to send a message to developers.

"It is my wish personally in my name, if i can get a seconder, to bring to this Chamber a proper resolution, which will look at protecting our patrimony in such a way that we never see any form of threat to Skeete Bay
