Five members of the All Stars Calypso tent are among nine finalists in Pic-O- Crop Finals at Kensington Oval on Friday, August 3.
There were selected from 19 calypsonians who performed at the semi finals held at the Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex last night .
The All Stars squad is lead by two time monarch Adrian Clarke and includes Ian Webster, Smoky Burke,De Announcer and Chrystal. The other finalists are Blood, , Adonijah, Red Plastic Bay and Gabby with first time semi finalist Troy, the reserve.
Nineteen calypsonians faced the judges last night in a keenly contested competition at the Gymnasium, the show began at 7 o'clock, the last of the competitors left the stage at 12.54 am, the names of the finalists were a announced by MC Carl Padmore at 1.35 am.
Two of finalists Gabbby and Red Plastic have won the crown on nine occasions, a win for either of would give them their tenth crown.
Popsicle is the current monarch.
