Georgetown: The Canadian High Commissioner to Guyana H.E. Pierre Giroux paid a courtesy call on Minister of Legal Affairs and Attorney General (AG) Basil Williams at the Attorney General Chambers.
Following the courtesy call the High Commissioner and his team comprising of Development Officer Ms. Marcella Thompson and Programme Development Officer Ms. Krysta Bisnauth attached to The Canadian Embassy in Guyana discussed briefly the Canadian funded Justice Education Society (JES) Project with the AG and his team, State Counsel Ms. Judy Stuart and Senior Superintendent of Police Paul Williams.
This initial discussion is the precursor for the JES Canadian team scheduled visit to Guyana on Monday September 14, 2015. The Canadian funded JES Project is geared toward the improvement of the Criminal Justice System of Guyana which will entail Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) training for police and state prosecutors as well as magistrates.
