Forty-nine pounds of cannabis of were seized by members of the Drug Squad aboard a inter-island vessel, the drug was discovered in a shipment of coconuts from St. Vincent.
Vincentian national, Dennis Lawrence Parsons,35, has been arrest in connection with the matter. He has been charged with possession of the drug, possession with intent to supply, trafficking and importation.
Customs officials who searched cargo on the vessel found packages of the drug within the consignment and notify lawmen.
Parsons and a female, who was later released, were taken into custody.
