Berbice : The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred yesterday at No. 45 Village Public Road, Corentyne, Berbice, and which resulted in the death of Steven Coppin, 65 years of Bengal Farm, Corentyne, Berbice.
According to the police, motor vehicle GJJ 6852 was proceeding along No. 45 Village Public Road, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided with a stationary donkey cart which was on the side of the road. As a result, Steven Coppin who was sitting on the cart received injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Fort Wellington Hospital.
The driver has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
