Georgetown : Agriculture Minister Robert Persaud indicated that the recent plane crash at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport may affect the Ministry’s agro export plans by air
.Minister Persaud said he had recently written to CEO and Chairman of Carribean Airline Limited complaining of inadequate space for shipping of Guyana’s agro exports.
“The assurance I got from the CEO by the way of a letter was that starting July 31st that they were going to put on a freight dedicated to looking at agro exports,” Minister Persaud said.
However, with this disaster that the airline is facing, the minister is certain that this will have some disruptive influence on that plan.
The ministry will give the airline some time to sort itself out, Minister Persaud said.
