The Caribbean Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) 2012 Leadership Symposium began in Barbados yesterday at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St Michael.
CAFC's president and Chief Fire Officer of St Croix Gregory Richards, in his welcome address told the delegates the symposium being held in Barbados for the first time was structured to provide an exciting opportunity for networking and for junior officers to participate in friendly competition.
The 11 year old organization is charged with unifying codes, practices, equipment, training and protocols among fire services in the region and developing and operating the unified regional responder network of fire, rescue and emergency medical service responders.
Over 60 firefighters and senior officers are attending the symposium.
