Cash for gold trade contributing to crime, says Attorney General

Biidgetown.

The cash for gold trade is contrubuting to the spate of recent robberies in Barbados. This observation was made by Attorney General Adriel Brathwaite, during a appeal to Barbadians to help the police catch the killers of  Arthur Chaderton and his son in law Gerhart Stock on Tuesday night.

Brathwaite stated, that the recent randon acts of robberies involving dangerous weapons had jeopardised the lives of innocent bystanders in their homes and at entertainment centres.

"Many of these acts appear to be drug related. I am aware based on discussions with the Commissioner of Police, that the cash for gold trade is contributing to the spate of robberies on the island.I think that legislative intervention will be required to address this trade", Brathwaite said.
