The Arawak Cement Company was forced to import hundreds of metric tonnes of cement into Barbados from its sister company TLC in Trinidad, after its plant at St Lucy began experiencing mechanical failures in various areas of its operations over the past two weeks forcing the company to stop production.
General Manager of Arawak Company, Rupert Green, told Trakker News the plant was working around the clock to rectify the problem and is importing 1900 metric tonnes from Trinidad this week to ensure the customer's needs are met.
