Mayo: Workers on strike outside of Trinidad Cement Limited's Mayo facility intensified their action after they got word that contract workers were being brought in to restart operations.
The plant is where TCL grinds limestone to be transferred through pipes to the Claxton Bay facility where cement is made.
The workers say the plant isn't easy to operate and if scab labour is brought on, it could do more harm than good.
Police allowed the protestors some leeway to protest as they formed a human barricade in front of a bridge stopping any chance of a tractor advancing to clear the debris.
One police vehicle was parked almost inside of the strike camp.
