Central Bank printing money to finance Government deficit

The Central Bank of Barbados has printed almost $150 million to finance the Government deficit, according to Leader of the Opposition, Owen Arthur.

Speaking to reporters a day after the Governor of the Central Bank, Dr Delisle Worrell present the Review  Of  The Barbados Economy For The First Nine Months of 2011, Arthur said  the Central Bank had  become the principal financier of the Government's deficit.

" Dr Worrell should have told the people of Barabdos that between April and September the Central Bank has become the principal financier of the deficit of the Government of Barbados and it has printed almost $150 million to finance that deficit", Arthur said.
