Chief Secretary writes PM again on appointment of health board

Tobago: The Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Orville London has written Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar expressing his growing concern over the delay in the appointment of a board of the Tobago Regional Health Authority (TRHA).

The two-year term of the last trha board which was appointed by the president on the recommendation of the THA Executive Council expired on March 31st 2011.

In his two-page letter to the prime minister dated July 20th 2011, London recalled that the documents related to the board were delivered by hand and received at her office on April 13th 2011.

He also reminded her that at their meeting on May 19th 2011 she had indicated that the selections of the THA for the appointment to the TRHA board would be processed by Cabinet and then transmitted to the president for his approval.

London told the prime minister that he is again requesting that the necessary measures be taken to ensure that the selection of the THA for appointment to the TRHA board be processed by Cabinet and transmitted to the president for his approval, as a matter of urgency.
