The high level of chronic diseases in Barbados has prompted a study aim at finding a solution to the problem.
The Eastern Caribbean Health Outcome Network (ECHON) was launched today at the Winston Scott Polyclinic .
Thirteen hundred Barbadians will be randomly selected to take part in the study, they will be monitored during a four year period.
Lead Co-Ordinator of the study Dr Marcella Nunez -Smith of the Yale Medical School told Trakker News, the project will help address the chronic disease epidemic which is impacting on Barbados and the rest of the region.
