Police allegedly bribed to withhold crucial evidence in Neesa Gopaul’s murder case.

Georgetown: Reliable information has surfaced from an eyewitness and close source to TrakkerNews about a move to pervert the course of justice in a most popular case involving the savage murder of 18 year old Neesa Gopual. The preliminary inquiry into the teenager's killing started since November 2010 with the two people, her mother Bibi Gopaul and Jarvis Small accused of her murder, taking the stand. At the last hearing on March 17, CID officer Lance Corporal Jermaine Laundry took the stand to give evidence of his role in the murder investigation. A number of exhibits were also tendered as evidence in court. During this hearing, the prosecutor made an oral application for crucial exhibits to be brought to court at the next hearing on April 7 to be tendered as evidence. Information is that this evidence bares heavily on the outcome of the PI as it regards the guilt of the two accused. Reports also surfaced that the evidence to be allegedly withheld is part of the DPP's case against the two. The eyewitness alleged that he saw when known associates of Jarvis Small handed over a bag believe to contain money to an officer at CID headquarters Eve Leary, Saturday last.

Neesa's body with the head bashed in beyond recognition was discovered at Emerald Tower, Linden/Soesdyke highway on October 2 2010. It was stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in the Madewini Creek. Investigators found evidence at the scene that led to the arrest of the mother and her lover. Since the brutal discovery, the Queens College student's death made headlines for days with many condemning the cruel act, calling for those responsible to face the full weight of the law. Now with this latest revelation, some say that it will be interesting to see what happens next, since the move clearly points to an attempt to prevent the two accused from being prosecuted in the young girl's murder.
