CLICO Forensic audit was stolen says Prime Minister

Bridgetown.

The forensic audit report  prepared by  Deloitte Canada about the operations of CLICO International Life Insurance in Barbados  was stolen, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart made this shocking revelation to an packed audience at the ruling Democratic Labour Party's (DLP) 57th Annual Conference which ended yesterday evening at the party headquarters.

"The Prime Minister was roundly condemned for not commenting on a report he had not seen. And he had not seen the report  because  at the time he being condemned, the report was in unauthorised circulation because it was stolen. I have never been a thief, slef confessed, petty or othewise. I sleep comfortably at night because there is no man, woman or child in Barbados or outside of Barbados who has a secret holding for me", Stuart said.

Referring to the report, Stuart said it did not contain any issues of which the Government had been accused and was merely an interim report stating no conclusions about any of the matters it was investigating.

Stuart told his audience that CLICO did not belong to the Government of Barbados but was a private company in which people in Barbados and the Caribbean had invested in various types of insurance policies.

He stressed that Heads of Governments across the region were working to eliminate or minimize loss to investors.
