Lawyers for CLICO International Life(CIL) will return to court next week in an attempt to get a stay of criminal proceedings against the company.
The matter came up for hearing before Justice Elneth Kentish earlier this week and was adjourned until next Wednesday. Attorneys from Lex Caribbean, are attempting to stop CIL directors from being charged with the alleged contravention of an order by the Supervisor of Insurance in August 2009 prohibiting the company from selling new business.
Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin, recently said a probe into the alleged contravetion was at an advance stage and a decision would soon be made about whether those involved would be charged.
