A climate change unit has been established within the Ministry of Health, in his address at the launch of the department at the Courtyard by Marriotts earlier this week, Minister of Health. Donville Inniss, said that the creation of the unit is an indication of Barbados' commitment to the Global Environmental Facility GEF) project.
Barbados is one of the seven pilot countries for the project which is title Piloting Climate Change Adaptation to Protect Human Health.
Inniss said, the Government considered the project to be important to the health and well being of Barbadians since climate change was considered to be the biggest threat that human being would face in the 21st century.
