Georgetown: Police today are searching for clues that could lead them to a motive and suspect behind the gruesome murder of 58-year-old Sharanie Doobay, who was found lying in a pool of blood near the kitchen of the two-storey residence in Echilibar Villas Campbellville. From preliminary enquiries done, police believe that someone close to Mrs.Doobay, perhaps a relative may have committed the act. The police have a male relative in custody assisting with the investigation. Police found no clue of forced entry and nothing was taken from the home, ruling out robbery. The Government quarters which houses prominent members in society mostly doctors is very private and often guarded.
No one claim to have seen anything suspiscious or whether there was movement in and out of the doctor's home. According to other residents the couple seldomly have visitors, except close relatives who come occassionaly for functions. The woman head was bashed by what investigators believe is perhaps a hammer or crowbar. The murder weapon was not found up tp the time of this report. Doctor Ramsundar Doobay , a physician and his nephew made the discovery after he returned from work last evening.
