The multi million dollar Coastal Risk Assessment and Mangement Project is expected to begin soon. Deputy Director of the Coastal Zone Management Unit (CZMU) Dr Lorna Inniss, says there have been delays that have prevented the project form getting off the ground, she is however optimistic that which the project will cost US$42.2 million will soon start.
Inniss told Trakker News, the project will include additional shoreline stabilisation and enchancement work but will go a step further to incorporate risk assessment, especially the negative impact that such natural disasters such as tsunamis can have on the coastline as well as the impact of climate change.
