West Berbice : Ivan Douglas of Fifth Street, Alberttown, was today charged with trafficking in narcotics. The 23 year old appeared before Magistrate Ms. Fabayo Azore at the Whim Magistrate Court where he pleaded ‘not guilty’ and was remanded to prison until June 30, 2011.
The charges result from a search on a motor vehicle enroute to Suriname by the police at Molsen Creek, Corentyne, on June 19, 2011, during which 2 kilograms of cocaine and 89 grams of hashish were found.
