Community Policing Groups honours Home Minister

Georgetown : Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee was honoured for his fifth year of Ministerial duty last evening by the Community Policing Secretariat.

A parade which commenced at the square of the revolution proceeding to the Ministry of Home Affairs Brickdam, last evening where members of the Community Policing Groups (CPGs) along with its youth arm saluted the Minister.

Minister Rohee in his brief remarks expressed gratitude to the organisers of the event, the Commissioner of Police, CPG members, the staff of the Ministry and those who made the cultural presentations.

The Minister said over the past five years government invested significant sums to establish CPGs nationwide, and encouraged members to continue executing their functions and duties by  walking the straight and narrow path  so that people in their community can always look up to them.

“They are many young people in society who look for leadership and can find none in their communities…therefore community policing provides the framework for individuals to be role models in their communities, as there are many young people who want to be a part of their community’s development,” Minister Rohee said.
