Contractor thankful his life was spared after being attacked

Bridgetown.

Mervin Gibbons, 45 of Apartment 6, Lot 59 Prior Park Terrace, St James, is thankful after being attacked at his home by a man and a woman in the wee hours of  the morning last Thusday.

According to Gibbons a woman he knew called late on Wedesday night slipped a male accomplice into the house and attacked him.

Gibbons said the woman was alone when she enter the house, she asked to used the bathroom , he let her in and  locked the door.

"After  she left the bathroom, she turned on the radio loudly and I believe it is at that time she let the guy in",Gibbson said.

"It was at that point that someone started hitting me on my head, when I tired to fight back, she placed her hands over my mouth, I bite one of her fingers and got away. I tried to run and call for help but he kept hitting me on my head. He then locked off my neck, while she took my feet and they threw me over the 12 foot balcony", he added.

Gibbson explained after he fell the man came down the stairs and started striking him again.

"I pretended to be dead before crawling to one of the apartments and called for help", Gibbons said .

He sustained a broken shoulder , broken ribs and a head wound, Gibbons a contractor believes the perpetrators believes the perpetrators thought he had money in the house.
