Georgetown: The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about midnight Wednesday during which security guards Clarence Carrington, 69 years, of No. 64 Village Corentyne, Berbice and Deodat Sanichar , 64 years, of No. 54 Village, Corentyne were attacked and robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun.
Investigations disclosed that Clarence Carrington and Deodat Sanichar were on duty at the No. 54 NDC Office, Corentyne, Berbice when they were confronted by the perpetrators who tied them up and broke into the NDC office and cut open a safe and took away $50,000.00.
