Couple quarantined after receving letter

Bridgetown.

A Christ Church couple was quarantined for four days after receving a letter with a substance suspected to be anthrax  on October 19. The letter was removed by a special response team for a analysis while the couple was examined and given medication by a doctor at the Randall Philllips Polyclinic in Oistins.

They were told to remain in their home for observation for four days and not to mingle with anyone during that period. The substance proved not to be anthrax after it was tested and the couple was given the all clear.

Three after the incident they are yet to be informed what the substance in the letter was and says the police at first did not take them seriously at first.

Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch confirmed the report was received and stressed every report made to lawmen were traeted seriously.
