Georgetown: Pioneer broadcaster and television station proprietor and host, Chandra Narine Sharma is a patient at the COVID-19 Hospital at Lilliendaal, East Coast Demerara.
The 73-year-old founder of the Justice for All Party is fully vaccinated and he is in a stable condition and not critically ill.
Reports indicate that he was diagnosed with the coronavirus over a week ago and was recovering at home. However, over the past few days, it was recognised that he was having some difficulty breathing and a decision was made to have him admitted to the hospital to receive oxygen.
His wife, Savitree Singh noted that she has been in contact with him and his doctors and she is confident that he will make a full recovery.
Despite several stumbling blocks along the way, CNS TV willin 2017 celebrated 25 years in broadcasting across Guyana. Named after its founder, Chandra Narine Sharma (CNS), the television station that now broadcasts on Channel Six, first began transmitting on the Channel 12 frequency on June 7, 1992.
