CPGs Divisional Chairmen met with Home Affairs Minister -to discuss issues pertinent to community policing

Georgetown : Minister of Home Affairs Clement Rohee met with the divisional chairmen of Community Policing Groups (CPG) on matters that would be of interest to the Ministry and the functioning of the groups.

National Chairman of CPG, Godfrey Washington stated that the meeting is useful since interactions are held with the chairman of each divisional group which means that more representation on pressing issues will be ventilated than meeting with just the executive members of CPG.

Minister Rohee as part of Government’s initiative to include community policing into its crime-fighting strategy, has embarked on an outreach programme across the country to aid in the implementation of such groups and address issues of non-cooperation of members of the Police Force with the CPG, issues that members of the community have with CPG members and challenges CPG members face
The CPG outreach continues with the Minister visiting Buxton community today.
