Customs brokers charged

Bridgetown.

Two customs brokers were arrested and charged last night in connection with a shipment of  marijuana worth $2.6 million intercepted at the Bridgetown Port  earlier this week.

Corey Brathwaite, 36, of Dash Valley, St George and Dwight Clarke of Mangrove, St Philip,  will appear in the District A Magistrates Court this morning on  several drug charges.

Police officers and Customs officials searched a container on Monday containing personal effects and discovered 108 packages of cannabis, weighing 664.68  pounds.

The container  originated in Canada and was and shipped to Barbados via Jamaica.
