Georgetown: The Government through its spokesperson Dr. Roger Luncheon said a decision on whether photocopying of textbooks will be prohibited, or retained will be announced to the public shortly.
The resort of the Administration to make these text books available to the students in Guyana is still being pursued but these engagements have now been influenced by two important occurrences, he said.
The publishers and their representatives have expressed their willingness to engage the Guyana Government with the aim of finding an amicable solution to the issue and the way forward.
“This engagement continues and information is being mutually shared about the concerns, and desires of both sides. I am pretty certain that we ought to be able to provide Guyanese soon with the outcome of those engagements with the representatives of the publishers and editors,” The Cabinet Secretary said.
