The dispute between unions representing workers at the Victoria Mutual Building Society (VMBS) and the company's management may be heading to the Industrial Disputes Tribunal.
A meeting between the parties at the Ministry of Labour yesterday ended in a stalemate.
The company's management is reportedly insisting that workers were not paid performance incentives because they did not meet targets.
However, the unions are maintaining that is not true.
Vice-president of the National Worker's Union Granville Valentine says the unions believe that with the parties at odds the matter now needs to go to a higher level.
Valentine says the unions are hoping that the labour ministry will act on the matter quickly as workers are restive.
Two Fridays ago unionised workers of VMBS walked off the job to protest the non-payment of performance incentives.
The protest action forced the closure of several branches.
