Bridgetown.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart is proud of the ruling Democratic Labour Party's (DLP) record over the last five years, and is ready for another term in government.
Stuart told a massive crowd public meeting last night at the Bay Street Esplande that his government has done well in last five years despite encountering political, social and economic challenges when they came to office in 2008.
"We have encountered many challenges but we have face them as courageous men and women because we were made for tough and challenging times. We are not political wimps or jellyfish, we are men and women of character in the DLP and even though the challenges we faced would have daunted lesser men and women, we were so committed to the cause that tonight we can look Barbadians in the face and say with pride we have delivered to you" Stuart said.
He maintained that over the last DLP members of Parliament have a lot of care for Barbadians, pointing out that as Leader of the Opposition for more than half that time Owen Arthur had logged less than 24 hours of service in the House of Assembly.
The Prime Minister highlighted the shortcoming of the previous Barbados Labour Party Administration, stating that the DLP had a lot of ground to cover after winning the government in 2008.
Stuart alluded to the strides his government has made in housing, health and social care in the past five years.
He told the crowd the first five years was good but the next five years will be better.
